Woodside CEO discusses emissions trading schemes
The Emissions Trading Scheme proposed by the Federal Government will directly and significantly affect energy producing industries, such as electricity, gas and petroleum. There is concern that the introduction of the scheme will increase the costs of production of energy, and that these costs will be passed on to consumers in the form of increased prices. There is also the possibility that increased costs of operations may impede the introduction of new projects and infrastructure, and exploration for natural resources.
