Australia Post's return to work strategy
The process of human resource management (HRM) involves attracting, developing and maintaining a talented and energetic workforce to support the organisation's mission, objectives and strategies. Part of this management process involves carefully controlling employee occupational health and safety (OHS). Australia Post has successfully implemented a rehabilitation program for injured workers, resulting in a 64 per cent reduction in workers' compensation costs over the last 10 years. This report exposes two sides of the injury debate, highlighting the conflicting interests that managers face when dealing with injured workers.
