Job design alternatives

Job design is the process of creating or defining jobs by assigning specific work tasks to individuals and groups, with the twin aims of achieving high levels of job satisfaction, and in turn, high levels of job performance.

A good job design provides a good fit between worker and task requirements. Job design can vary along a continuum as shown in the diagram.
