The general environment — Sociocultural conditions

Sociocultural conditions is a term used to describe the social and cultural factors that affect people’s attitudes, beliefs, behaviours, preferences, customs and lifestyles.

Demographics describe statistics about a population. A population can be characterised by its demographic characteristics: age, gender, race, ethnicity, educational attainment, marital status, parental status and so on. These characteristics influence the behaviour of society as a whole and the individuals within it.
