Quantitative approaches to management
As mentioned earlier, quantitative management approaches focus on applying mathematical techniques and analysis to assist managerial decision making and problem solving. This quantitative approach to management began to emerge around the same time as the behavioural (or human resource) approaches. Today, these quantitative applications are increasingly driven by computer technology and software programs.
However, good managerial judgement and an appreciation for human factors must always accompany the use of quantitative analysis in managerial decision making and problem solving.
