Herzberg's two-factor theory — Satisfier factors

Satisfier factors are found in the job content; that is, what workers actually do in their job tasks. Herzberg argued that by making improvements in what people are asked to do in their jobs, their job satisfaction, motivation and performance can be improved. Such satisfier factors include providing opportunities for achievement, recognition, advancement, responsibility and personal growth. Herzberg therefore proposed that satisfier factors are more likely to be motivators than hygiene factors.
